The concept of business coaching can be received with a little bit of scepticism: it is a fairly new concept, those unfamiliar may be cautious and there are a lot of preconceived ideas. A recent objection that peaked my interest though was “I feel like it is nice to have but not need to have.”

I enjoyed the alliteration but I have to disagree and this is why….

Gym membership could be seen as a ‘nice to have, not need to have’. Realistically you can be healthy and fairly fit without it. Many consider it a luxury. But what if you are training to be a firefighter? What if your fitness had expectations, deadlines and was loaded with importance in your life? If firefighting was a dream career, would a gym membership to prepare for your fitness test be nice to have or need to have?

For something to go from nice to need the difference is simply that of importance.

So, how important is your business to you? How important is the success of your business to you?

It is a proven fact that

  • accountability helps with results.
  • goal setting and planning help move things in the right direction.
  • bouncing ideas and vocalising thoughts helps in the processing of them.
  • businesses run smoother with good systems in place
  • a decent team can take a business from ok to exceptional

I could continue these bullet points indefinitely. And this is what a business coach does. Nice to have or need to have?

(Plus with the money back guarantee that ActionCOACH provides, in the first 6 months, you make the money you put in back so there is not even a wasted gym membership money situation….)
